Richard Charles Lorenzen

Richard Charles Lorenzen age 69 of South Toledo passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Richard was born in Toledo, OH on November 21, 1946 to Richard C. and Marie (Craft) Lorenzen. He was a 1965 graduate of Rogers High School and was a proud Vietnam Army veteran with the 554th Engineers. Richard was employed as a mail carrier for the US Post Office for over 30 years. Dick enjoyed bowling for many years until his health problems prohibited him. He also loved camping at Yogi Bear where he was known to many as the Postman activities at the Margaret Hunt Senior Center, playing cards with his family and spending time with his grandkids. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Surviving is his loving wife of 48 years, Janice (Slicker) Lorenzen; loving children, Jeff (Jennifer), Julie (Lee) Blakeman; grandchildren, Erika, Sydney, Jake, Reid, and Jeff; sister, Mary (Greg) Baisch and brother in-law, James Fuller. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews and his beloved Collie, MAX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Fuller. Family and friends may visit at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 2-8 PM. Services for Richard will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1853 South Ave., Toledo, OH 43609. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church or Margaret Hunt Senior Center 2121 Garden Lake Pl., Toledo, OH 43614.
