Richard S. Kozek

Richard S. Kozek age 85 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born in Chicago, IL on December 25, 1932 to Stanley and Lillian (Zabkar) Kozek. Richard was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. Richard owned and operated Total Wash until retiring in 1996. He was a member of SPEBSQSA (Barber Shop Chorus). In June of 1983, Richard was ordained a permanent deacon with the Diocese of Toledo and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. Richard enjoyed traveling; riding his motorcycle; baseball especially the Cleveland Indians and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Ken (Susan) Kozek, Karen (Terry) Hickey, Tom (Alli) Kozek, Bill (Sharon) Kozek, Mary (Jim) Kuebler and Susie (Patrick) Hickey; grandchildren, Kyle (Jess), Travis (Lora), Sarah (Noah), Nathan, Dylan, Danica (Ricky), Haley, Letty, Milo, Jahlil, Jamarie, Ricardo, Brett (Amanda), Chad, Luke, Noah, Sam, and Abby; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Ryan, Ellie, Clove and Addison; brother, David Kozek; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Carol Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Barbara Kozek and sister in-law, Roberta Kozek. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 3-8 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 9:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd. Perrysburg, OH 43551.
