Richard H. Kilmer

Richard H. Deken Kilmer, 62, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee, OH. Deken was born on June 25, 1948 in Port Clinton, OH to Lorenz O. Sonny Jr. and Margaret Lou Robinson Kilmer. He graduated with a Bachelors degree from the Brooks Art Institute of Santa Barbara, CA. Deken was a veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1968-71. He was retired from the U.S. Postal service. Deken will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Family includes, daughter, Brooke Joseph Araguz of Port Clinton, son, Kyle Kilmer Cheryl Crosser of Athens, OH, Paw Paw to Darren J. Araguz, Alexis N. Avers, Jackson S. Araguz, sisters, Judy Denny Lamp of Port Clinton, Libby Mike Voll of Bay Village, OH, formerly married to Bonnie Fontana from 1972 to 1985. Deken was also survived by nieces and nephews, Nathan and Alex Lamp and Lauren and Mitch Voll. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Port Clinton Yacht Club on Saturday, September 18, 2010 starting at noon. The family has asked that everyone wear Hawaiian shirts and no ties.
