Richard Kaspar

Richard Dick S. Kaspar, 89, of Port Clinton passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 05, 1921 in Port Clinton, OH, the son of James R. and Rose Grioski Kaspar. On October 28, 1944 in Port Clinton, OH, he married Alberta M. Goldbach and she survives. He was a 1939 graduate of Port Clinton High School. Dick worked as a farmer and was a dairy owner for 45 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Dick was president of the Ottawa Farmers Union, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1750, a member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, Director of Fremont Mutual Insurance Co, Captain of the Bay Township Fire Dept for 25 years and helped with the carryout for the barbeques. He delivered Meals on Wheels for over 8 years, was a member of the Moose Lodge #1610, Director of the Ottawa County Co-Op and helped with the Ottawa County Holiday Bureau. Dick will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Loving Wife of 65 years: Alberta M. Kaspar of Port Clinton, OH; Sons: Robert Bonnie Kaspar of Bay Township, OH and Carl Patricia Kaspar of Colorado; 5 Grandchildren: Ryan Shonda Kaspar, Matt Kaspar, Karen Kaspar, Tim Kaspar and Sherri Kaspar; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Madalynne, Katie Lee and Dalenay. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Edward, Francis, Arthur and Bernard Kaspar. Visitation will be from 6-8PM, Sunday, January 24, 2010 and 2-4 6-8PM, Monday, January 25, 2010 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Prayers will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the funeral home, A Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Reverend Dan Ring at 10:30AM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Dick may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1750 or Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH.
