Richard Frank Kachmarik was a loving and genuine son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He spent his early years traveling to Owosso, MI to his grandparent’s family farm, where he would stay and spend time with all his cousins and family. He met the love of his life, Janet June Gibson, on a blind date. They were married on October 16, 1954. He served in the United States Air Force from May ’54 to November ’57. They had 2 lovely daughters, Catherine (Cathy) and Barbara (Barb). Their marriage was filled with love and happiness. Richard and Janet enjoyed traveling and would often take day and weekend trips with each other and family. Richard had spent lots of time with his two brothers and many nieces and nephews playing euchre and listening to polka music. Richard and Janet were blessed with five grandchildren that they absolutely adored. They loved attending all their activities and playing such an important role in all their lives. One of Richard’s many hobbies were cars. He loved building model cars and watching car racing on Sundays. His daughter, Cathy, and he would share this interest and always talked about who they wanted to win, but more importantly who they didn’t. Richard had worked for 38 years at LOF and at St. Jerome School as a janitor, where he was affectionately called “Mr. Richard”. In his later years, Richard enjoyed going to the senior center. He also looked forward to his monthly lunches with LOF friends. He liked going to eat with his friend, Greg Fritz, who would drive him to many of his favorite places. He was an avid card player, especially euchre. Richard always managed to win, and everybody wanted him as their partner Richard was passionate in the practice of his Catholic faith. He and his wife were founding members of St. Jerome Catholic Church, where they practiced regularly. He was one of the kindest individuals who truly blessed everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed. Richard is survived by his daughters, Catherine “Cathy” Warner and Barbara (Frank) Jannazo; grandchildren, Stacie Warner, Michael (Tresane) Warner, Anthony Jannazo, Jennifer Jannazo, Nicholas Jannazo; great grandchildren, Joseph and Catori Warner; sister-in-law, Tina Kachmarik; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Janet Kachmarik; brothers, Frank Kachmarik and Edward (Dorothy) Kachmarik; son-in-law, Mark Warner; grandson, Francis Jannazo.
