Richard A. Dick Jensen

Richard “Dick” A. Jensen, 77, of Graytown, OH, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born on July 23, 1940, in Clay Center, OH, to Carl and Dorothy F. (Myerholtz) Jensen. On December 6, 1962, at Zion United Methodist Church in Elliston, OH, he married Rebecca L. Bringe and she survives. Richard was nicknamed “Horse” by his Genoa high school football coach. As a young teenager he worked for many area farmers including his future father-in-law, Clarence Bringe. This is where his love for farming and his most dearly loved and eventual wife, Becky, began. After high school he worked as a self-employed truck driver hauling anything from sugar beets, grain, and steel. As long as it was heavy he wanted to haul it. In 1967 he and Becky bought their first farm, where they remodeled the original house built in 1889 and raised their family and continued their lives together. Through 55 years of hard work and dedication to his family, a dream that a young man started was realized not only by accomplishments but by the many friends and family that touched him throughout his life. In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, Becky, he is survived by his sons, Douglas Jensen of Ft. Myers, FL, Dennis Jensen of Perrysburg, OH, and Daniel Jensen of Graytown, OH; grandchildren, Tad, Troy, Noah, Becky, and Josh; brothers, Roger Jensen of Martin, OH, Gayland Jensen of Oregon, OH, and sister, Karen Jensen, of Toledo, OH. His parents and brother, Ronald Jensen, preceded him in death. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2017, at Shoreline Church, 769 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor, with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
