Richard Heckman

Richard “Dick” Heckman age 87 of Maumee passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.  He was born September 3, 1934, in Marion, Ohio to Frank and Ruth (Yoxsimer) Heckman.  A veteran of the US Army, he was stationed in Germany.  After being honorably discharged, he was employed at the Bostwick Braun Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1996.  He then went to work for Cardinal Health delivering nuclear medicine in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan for over 10 years.  He enjoyed attending all his grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid photographer.  Dick was also active in St. Jospeh’s Church especially helping with bingo.

Preceded in death by his brother-in-law, George Ambrose, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Agnes; sons, Jim (Brandi), Bob (Nikki) and Matt Heckman; and daughter, Theresa (Robert) Szygenda; He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and a sister, Nancy Ambrose.

Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee on Friday January 21, 2022, from 4- 7 PM where a Scripture service will be held at 7 pm.  Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Maumee. (masks preferred)  Interment to follow in St. Joseph cemetery.  The family suggests memorials to Deacon Tom’s Pantry c/o Historic St. Patrick Church, 130 Avondale Ave. Toledo, Ohio, 43604.
