Garris Richard Dick Richard Dick Garris, age 78, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Regency Hospital. The son of Felix and Mary Gasiorowski, he was born Oct. 5, 1929 in Toledo. Dick was the youngest of four boys, growing up in the Polish neighborhood and graduated from Woodward High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was highly talented in art and music. He was a commercial artist, first working for the Toledo Times and later for the Toledo Blade. He was very active in the Toledo Jazz Society making many wonderful friends. Dick will always be remembered for his kind and generous heart and his great sense of humor. He is survived by the mother of his children, Fran Garris, who remained a loyal friend; son, Mark Garris; sisters-in-law, Alba, Dorothy, & Norma Garris; numerous nieces & nephews; and dear friend, Jerry Deprisco. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff; brothers, Ed, Les, and Danny. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 12:00 PM 1:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd where services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM.
