Richard R. Flick, 79, of Millbury, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 4, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born September 9, 1935, in Elmore, Ohio, to Orville and Mary (Kavish) Flick. On August 19, 1961, in Toledo, he married Julianne G. Owen and she survives. Richard graduated from Harris-Elmore High School, Class of 1953, and earned his Masters Degree in Education at Bowling Green State University. From 1961-1969 he taught at Northwood Olney Elementary School and from 1969-1989 taught 5th and 6th grades at Trilby Elementary in Toledo. Richard enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of BGSU, where he held season tickets for football and basketball for many years. He was also a fan of Whitmer football and basketball and after retirement, he video-taped many events, including football, basketball, cheerleading and the school plays. In addition to his wife, Julianne, Richard is survived by his daughter, Cheri (Doug) Hubbs of Antelope, CA, and son, Richard (Angelina) A. Flick of Toledo, grandchildren, Matthew, Julie, Kelly and Ashley, and brothers, Eugene (Joanne) Flick and Jerry Flick. His parents and brother, Orville Flick, preceded him in death. A memorial service for Richard will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. Visitation will follow from 12- 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richards memory may be made to the American Red Cross, Blood Services, 1111 Research Dr., Toledo, OH 43614; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
