Richard T. Fix

Richard T. Fix, 59, of Toledo, OH passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 14, 1962 in Toledo, OH to Richard J. and Helen M. (Klena) Fix. Rick graduated from Rossford High School in 1980 and then graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology. On October 3, 1987 in Rossford, OH he married Deborah Willis, and she survives. Rick previously worked for St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo for 15 years, then Chrysler Jeep in Toledo for 10 years, and then Flower Hospital in Toledo for 8 years. Rick was blessed with the “Gift of Gab” and enjoyed talking with people. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, campfires, fishing, golfing, watching sports, especially the Cleveland Browns & Indians, and he was also a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Rick was known to have a sweet tooth and enjoyed sour treats and his favorite ice cream, mint chocolate chip. He most enjoyed spending time with his children. In addition to his loving wife, Debbie, Rick is survived by his son, Jason Fix, daughter, Madison Fix, mother, Helen Fix, sister, Lisa (Mark) Vogelpohl, and brother, Gregory (Pam) Fix. He was preceded in death by his father. Private family services will be conducted for Rick with burial to follow in Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Rick to the Humane Society of Lucas County or a charity of the donor’s choice. We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again.
