Richard Amico Disanza

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Richard DiSanza, husband of 64 years and father of four children, passed away at the age of 89. Richard was born on December 5, 1931 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Vincenzo and Claudina DiSanza. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Miami University of Ohio and a Master’s in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. On June 1, 1957 he married Yvonne M. Muse and they raised four children: James, Robert, Pamela, and Anthony. Richard started his career as a chemist, ultimately moving to business sales and management. He was also very active as a business consultant. In his later years he worked with his son, Robert, in building the manufacturing company Tencom, Ltd. Richard enjoyed playing tennis, hand ball, racquet ball, and golf. He was the ultimate “do it yourself” person who always preferred to fix an item many times over rather than buy a new one. Richard was known for his understated sense of humor, deep integrity, and commitment to his dear wife, Yvonne. Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela DiSanza Gredicak in 2020. He is survived by his wife Yvonne, his brother Edmond (Barbara) and his sister Linda Reese (Steve), as well as his children and their spouses: James and Nancy, Robert and Paula, Stephen Gredicak, Anthony and Jessica, and his three grandchildren Alexis, Jacob, and Maggie. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 6 P.M. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH.
