Richard "Dick" F. Buhrow, Sr.

Richard “Dick” F. Buhrow Sr., 79, of Martin, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. Dick was born in the former Riverside Hospital, Toledo, on February 11, 1945, the son of Ernest J. and Ruby M. (Draper) Buhrow. He was a 1963 graduate of Genoa High School and a 1968 graduate of The Ohio State University, with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture management. Upon finishing college, he married his sweetheart, Marjorie M. (Bradford), in Toledo, on October 18, 1968.

Dick was a farmer all his life and worked for the former Brush-Wellman Company, in Elmore, Ohio for 26 years, retiring in 2013. He had also served in the United States Navy and worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford and the Henry W. Bergman Company. Dick attended Mainstreet Church in Walbridge and participated in the church Bible Study Group. He also was a member of several Masonic orders and the Order of Eastern Stars.

Dick loved his family and will be remembered for his dedication to their well-being. He had a do-it-yourself attitude on any project around the house, farm, and family that was a great example to those around him. His personality was one of great friendliness, he could talk to anyone and once he started, the conversations came easily. You might say he never met a stranger! Dick enjoyed gardening, camping, Genoa Comet sports and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, so much so, that most people knew not to bother him on game day!

Dick will be missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Marjorie, children, Melissa Harger, Richard (Lori) Buhrow, Jr., and Bradley (Maria) Buhrow, grandchildren, Nicholas (Samantha) Buhrow, Joshua Buhrow, Kaylee (Dominic) Nuti, Ethan, Zachary, Emily, and Eli Buhrow, great-grandchildren, Giovanni Nuti and Noah Buhrow, and his brother, Leland (Janis) Buhrow. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michele Buhrow, son-in-law, Curtis Harger, brother, Michael Buhrow and sister Judith Warfield.

Visitation for Dick will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Mainstreet Church, 5465 Moline-Martin Road, Walbridge, Ohio, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa is assisting with arrangements.
