Richard E. Cormany, 87, of Walbridge, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Orchard Villa in Oregon. He was born on May 24, 1930 to Marion G. and Evelyn V. (Swier) Cormany in Massilon, Ohio. Richard married his beloved wife, Sherry A. (Sommers) Cormany on May 27, 1984 in Toledo. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Rossford American Legion and CedarCreek Church. Richard worked as an Engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 41 years and volunteered for over 7 years at St. Charles Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sherry A. Cormany; children, Terri (Dan) Mahl, Richard “Chip” (Melissa Brown) Cormany, and Kenneth (Jackie) Cormany; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Halter. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 3:00-7:30 p.m. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121). Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice.
