Richard D. Collins

Richard D. Collins, 90, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Monday, May 27, 2013 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 28, 1922 in Zanesville, OH, the son of Howard and Mary Flowers Collins. On October 17, 1953, in Port Clinton, OH, he married Ethel M. Smith and she preceded him in death on December 28, 2006. Richard worked at Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky for 28 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Richard will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Son: Michael Barb Collins of Port Clinton; Daughters: Pam Gluth and Trudy Don Gaydosh, both of Port Clinton; 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother: Wayne Collins and sister: Lillian Jewett. A Graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Tim Renn, at 10:00AM, Friday, June 07, 2013, in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial donations in memory of Richard may be given to Stein Hospice. Arrangements were handled by the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH.
