Richard A. Buehler, age 79, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009. The son of Albert W. and Abbie C. Buehler, he was born July 28, 1929 in Toledo. Dick was a 1946 graduate of Woodward High School. He attended the University of Toledo and graduated from the Cleveland College of Mortuary Science in 1950. Dick was associated with many Toledo and area funeral homes. In fact on April 11, 1965 he was called by a Toledo funeral home to provide services for the fatalities of the Palm Sunday F4 tornado. Dick was also a member of the Toledo Fire Division with his appointment in 1957 and retiring in 1989. During his career he was stationed at #1, #6 and to the Alarm office as a dispatcher and the driver/aide for the Battalion Chiefs, Eulan Tucker and Raymond Zimmerman. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. Dick was a member of Cass Rd. Baptist Church where he taught adult Sunday school, as well as having served as a Deacon, Trustee and on the Executive Committee, and a member of the Adriel Fellowship. His memberships also included the Northern Light Lodge #40 F&AM. As a teenager Dick was on WSPD on a weekly Boy Scout broadcast. He is survived by his children, Richard W. Kim Buehler, Beverly Fred Lederer; grandchildren, Jaada Josh Urbiel, Carly Marzec, Dylan Marzec, Jacob Lederer, Jenna Lederer, Emma Buehler; and great grandsons, Nicholas Urbiel and Sebastian Woodruff. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Marj and daughter, Denise Marzec. Friends may visit the family on Thursday 2-9 PM with a Last Alarm service at 7:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd where services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Cass Rd. Baptist Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
