Richard Larry Bryson (Rick) of Perrysburg passed away in his home on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017. Rick was born on June 25, 1959 in Greenville, SC to N. Larry and Eloise Bryson. He is survived by both his sister, Kathy (Clay) of Chester, SC and brother, Chuck of Spartanburg, SC along with his parents. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Sharon, of 35 years. He leaves behind four children: Kristen (Zach) of Charlotte, NC, Alex (Jennifer) of Toledo, OH, Justin (Nicole) of Maumee, OH and Kimberly of Perrysburg, OH. He will be missed by his two grandchildren: Tayln (7) and Bryson (3 mo.). Rick, or Ricky Fresh as he was affectionately known, was a family man who dedicated his life to caring for the most important people in his world. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. His children will always cherish their many memories of their dad’s funny characters at the dinner table and countless trips to the beach. He was an avid golf fan and one of the highlights of his year was The Event with his golfing buddies. After 10 years of traveling together, his presence will be deeply missed. Rick enjoyed a long career in sales with Georgia Pacific that allowed him to travel all over the country. He enjoyed seeing new places and taking long car rides while listening to talk radio. He was always known to strike up a conversation and easily made friends everywhere he went. Rick’s friendly nature extended through the neighborhood and he happily helped to form the barstool racing gang. His Sandalwood neighbors spent many nights socializing and grilling out. Rick’s humor, stories and BBQ skills will leave a void in the neighborhood gatherings. Though his family takes solace in the fact that Rick passed away peacefully and pain-free, they will miss future family vacations and events with their husband, dad and grandfather. Together, they plan to keep his memory alive by telling stories and enjoying some of Rick’s favorite things as a family. The family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133). Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in Rick’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at witzlershank.com
