Richard Baker

Richard J. Baker passed away on July 9, 2023. He was born in Toledo on June 5, 1938 to Frank and Elizabeth Baker. Dad spent almost his entire career in the glass container industry. He started in the drafting room with Owens-Illinois and retired from Kerr Group as a corporate officer, vice-president manufacturing and general manager of the metals division. After retirement from Kerr he started a consulting business. Dad was very active in his church and the Alzheimer’s Association where he served on the board. His loving wife Bernie suffered from Alzheimer’s. Dad cared for her for several years before she entered a long term care facility. That journey was made easier because of the care, love and prayers of wonderful friends. The “Baker Buddies” and the ”Wonderful Wednesdays” groups have left an indelible print in our memories. Surviving are daughter, Lisa; son, Greg; granddaughters, Shaunessy and Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50+ years, Bernadette Baker.
