Richard Wilbert Anteau

April 30, 1947 — March 9, 2017

Richard W. Anteau, age 69, passed away Thursday March 9, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. The son of Richard and Betty, he was born on April 30, 1947 in Toledo. He was a 1965 graduate of Whitmer High School and attended Davis College. Rick worked at Schorlings Market which his father owned. He worked his way to manager and eventually became a Food Broker in the grocery industry. Rick loved cars, especially Corvettes. He owned many cars over the years and was a member of the Glass City Corvette Club. He was an old WWII movie buff. He followed sports, particularly the Super Bowl. His weakness were sweets, such as Pepsi, candies and pies from Schmuckers. Rick will be remembered most for being a real people person. Always willing to lend a hand, he genuinely enjoyed having sincere conversations with friends, family and strangers. My father was a kind, loving man that was always there for me with words of encouragement and love. I will always remember him as the helpful loving man that he was. He is survived by his son, Sean (Chelsea); sister, Mary Lou Barhydt; nephews, Doug and Scott McElroy; niece, Jessie (David) Hoag; sisters-in-law, Audene Taylor and her sons Wade, Eli, & Joe, Irene Rose and her sons Ben & Ethan (Colleen); mother of his son, Glenn Ann Anteau. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 3-7 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (west of Corey Rd) where services will be held at 11:00AM Monday. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
