Richard S. Ansara

May 9, 1932 — April 27, 2022

Richard S. Ansara, 89, of Waterville, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022, at Ebeid Hospice. He was born May 9, 1932, in Toledo to David and Jenny (Simon) Ansara. Richard graduated from Woodward High School in 1950 and obtained a business degree at the University of Toledo. He loyally served for 40 years at Champion Spark Plug until his retirement as sales manager in 2000.

His faith was of utmost importance to him as he was a lifelong member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral. Richard was also a member of Rubicon Lodge #237 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, and Zenobia Shrine. He enjoyed golfing around the area with his friends and sharing time with them after.

Richard was an outgoing, friendly, smart, and selfless man. He left no doubt he genuinely cared for you and had a unique ability to make everyone who met him feel like his friend. As he memorably told everyone who ever knew him, “Don’t get old, stay young”. Richard was a dearly beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be missed greatly by many.

He is survived by his children, Karma Gardner and Samuel Ansara; grandchildren, Alyssa, Samantha, Alexandra, and Maxwell; sister, Marlene Boles; and many other friends and loved ones. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise in 2019; and daughter-in-law, Trisha.

Visitation will be held at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 3754 Woodley Rd, Toledo, OH, 43606 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral liturgy at 11:00 a.m. Committal services will be held privately.
