Rhoda A. Mersing

Rhoda A. Mersing, 93, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 18, 1922 in Toledo to Robert F. and Bernice (Reynolds) Wright. She married Anthony Gerold Wilson Mersing on January 22, 1940 also in Toledo. Rhoda was a dedicated mother, homemaker and spent many years as a foster parent for over 40 children. She loved to read and spend time in her garden arranging and taking care of flowers. Rhoda was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed making baskets, crocheting blankets and doll dresses for her loving grandchildren. Rhoda is survived by her children, Jim W. (Judy) Mersing, Dorisann (Bob) Herrick, John G. Mersing and Michael A. Mersing; daughter-in-law, Barbara I. Mersing; grandchildren, Jim W. Jr., Tony Gene, Gregory A., Jayme L., Jake A., Tammy L., Connie Sue, Stacey A., Samuel D. and Joanne M.; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many of her foster children. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry H. Mersing; granddaughter, Rebecca Lee; great grandson, Gary A.; siblings, Howard and Robert Wright and Marion Monroe. Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00 A.M.
