Rex Hugh Griffis

Rex H. Griffis, age 90, of Waterville, Ohio passed away on Monday September 21, 2015 at the Lakes of Monclova, Maumee, Ohio. He was born on April 20, 1925 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Edgar and Donna Griffis. Rex was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having earned a Purple Heart in WW II. He worked for the former Seaway Food Town and was an avid reader. Most of all, Rex loved spending time with his family who he was so proud of. Rex is survived by his wife, Muriel; children, Jeffrey (Anita), Joan (Mark) Hahn, Steven (Anne) Coburn-Griffis and Jane (Bryan) Bennight; 11 grandchildren and sister, Patricia (James) Hipsley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd and son-in-law, Keith Koester. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday September 24, 2015 at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St., Maumee, Ohio. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
