Reva L. Nelson

Reva L. Nelson age 90 of Toledo passed away peacefully Thursday September 11, 2014 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Inpatient Unit, Toledo. She was born October 13, 1923 in LaValle, MO. to William and Mary Foulks. A graduate of Alton High School in Alton, Illinois she also attended Shurtleff College.  Her first employment was  at the Alton Boxboard Company. She and her family moved to Toledo in 1968 where she retired from the former  Lion Store, Westgate after 27 years.  Reva was a member of the former Parkview Hospital Guild and the Wildwood Athletic Club.  A moral compass for her family, she was a homemaker and  a member of the Boulevard Church of Christ and Monroe Christian Church. She also enjoyed singing in church with her son, David. She enjoyed a long wonderful marriage with her husband of 60 years, Donald A. Nelson who preceded her in death in 2008. Surviving is her son David (Kristin) Nelson; daughters Dale (Dr. Tim) Eckstein and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Knott; grandchildren Wendy Baldwin, Brittany Johnston, D. Andrew Nelson, Shane Bryant and James and Dr. Gregory Knott; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Leola Baierlein; and special West Park Place friends. Friends may visit the family at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Friday September 19 after 4 PM where memorial services will follow at 5 PM. Interment is to be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Godfrey, IL.   The family would like to thank West Park Place and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and support of Reva.
