Rev. Karl O. Kessler

Reverend Karl O. Kessler, age 85, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his residence in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on September 30, 1937 in Fremont, Ohio to George and Anna (Karlovetz) Kessler. Karl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Minderman.

They were blessed with children: David (Jennifer) Kessler, Rebecca (Col. Mark) Erickson, Timothy (Jodi) Kessler, Dan (Teresa) Jennings, Karin (Jim) Kirton and Teri Owens. The family grew to include grandchildren: Jacqueline Kessler, Sydney McCartt, Lindsey Kessler, Ashley Pierce, Anna Erickson, Jessica Erickson, Bryce Kessler, Clayton Kessler, Melanie Kessler, Mitchell Kessler, Kessler Owens, Leah Owens and two great granddaughters: Finnley McCartt and Oakley Pierce. Also surviving are his siblings: Nancy Keyser, Martha Lozano (Steve), and Ruth (Richard) Druckenmiller and brother Gerald (Judi) Kessler.

During Karl’s life he served four ELCA congregations and several interim churches. He actively served a number of additional organizations including Lion’s Club, Kiwanis, and Rotary. He lived simply, loved reading and traveled the world. Karl will be remembered as a man who loved God and loved people.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams Street, Port Clinton, Ohio with the funeral services to follow at 11:00 am in the church. A luncheon will follow the service with the interment after at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
