Retsy Joan Cutcher, 77, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, with her family by her side. She was born on October 12, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Fornell and Stella (Morgan) Alexander. On May 17, 1973 she married Stanley J. Cutcher and he survives. Retsy worked at The Fremont Company in Fremont, Ohio as a shed supervisor for 20 years, retiring in 1998. For those who knew her, Retsy had a personality larger than life which was evident by the shenanigans she would play on others. She loved making people smile, laugh and she was a complete joy to be around. She was a very unique individual who enjoyed getting all dolled up and wearing big hats when given the chance, especially when helping out as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army during the holidays. During her down time, she enjoyed reading books, eating snacks, taking care of others and just enjoying life. Most importantly, she loved and adored her family and spent every moment she could with them. Survivors include her loving husband, Stanley; daughters, Glenda (Tyler) McCann, Judy (Tony) Guerra, and Lisa (Steve) Conner; son, Stanley (Sharon) Cutcher; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Vassie Beaver and Nancy Smith; and niece, Jennifer Beaver. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stephen Sellars; her grandson, Donald Edison, and her brother, Norman Hyatt. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 beginning at 1 pm at the Bay Township Hall, 4471 W. Fremont Road, Port Clinton, Ohio. All are invited to attend. Retsy’s family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to the Bay Township Volunteer Fire Department, 4471 W. Fremont Road, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452 as they were so kind, caring and compassionate to her during her time of need. Flowers may be sent to the Bay Township Hall for the Celebration of Life Gathering on Saturday or to the family home at 3001 Mable Lane, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
