Renee C. DeVore, 85, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and formerly of Catawba Island, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. Born on July 4, 1939, Renee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was married to her wonderful husband, Jack DeVore, in 1964, and together they celebrated 60 years of love.
Renee was the proud mother of five children, and she found immense joy in watching her family grow. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with 2 on the way, all of whom brought her great pride and happiness. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
For many years, Renee worked in the cafeteria at Northwood Schools, where she touched the lives of countless children with her warmth and kindness. She was known for her nurturing spirit and her love of children, and she took great joy in making each child feel special.
She had a deep love for bowling and was an active participant in several local bowling leagues, where she forged many lasting friendships and enjoyed countless memorable moments. She also enjoyed playing cards and gardening.
Renee's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, generosity, and dedication to her family. Renee's life was a testament to the power of love and the joy of giving, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Renee is survived by her husband, Jack; her children, Jackie (Tim) Greenlese, Jodi (Eric) McClellan, Chuck (Heather Deibel) DeVore, Carol (Bill) Grady, and David (Robin) DeVore; Ten Grandchildren; Five Great-Grandchildren with two on the way; sisters, Pat (George) Ferl and Barbara Hahn; and brother, Raymond Hahn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joella Wirsching.
Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, on Thursday, November 14 from 3-7:30 pm with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11 am with Fr. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Island Cemetery.
