Reges Mary Kuvik

Mary Reges Kuvik, age 90, died peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Ebeid Hospice Center, in Sylvania, Ohio. One of six daughters of the late George and Anna Mae Leehan, Reges was born January 29, 1924, in Albion, Pa. She was a loving mother to her five children, and also a business partner to her husband, Joseph. Reges enjoyed a very active life and exercised well into her eighties. She was a fiercely independent person, who had a wonderful sense of humor and an adventurous spirit. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals and loved nature. A child of the Great Depression, she believed true wealth was measured by the love and laughter she shared with her family and friends. Reges will be most remembered for her devotion to her family and her deep faith in God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph; four sisters, Gertrude, Doris, Bertha, and Geraldine; her much loved daughter-in-law, Connie; and her sons Robert and Richard Kuvik. She is survived by her sons, James (Patricia) and Ronald Kuvik; daughter, Rachael Kathryn (Steven) Essig; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Marie Kimmey; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of her caretakers, who filled the days during her illness with tenderness, compassion, and dignity. Following her wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29th, at St. Lawrence, The Martyr, Catholic Church, 180 E. State St., Albion, PA 16401. A private, family luncheon will follow. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Ebeid Hospice Center, 5340 Harroun Rd., Sylvania, OH 43560.
