Rebecca Rothenbuhler

Becky Rothenbuhler of Maumee, OH unexpectedly passed away on June 9th, 2021. She was born in Bridgeport, CT to George and Barbara Bissell on October 25th, 1946. She graduated from Joe Barlow High School in Easton, CT. Becky received a degree from Defiance College to teach Business Education and later earned her Masters degree from the University of Toledo. She began her teaching career in Hicksville, OH for 1 year, then taught at Devilbiss for 9 years, and taught for 20 years at Perrysburg High School. After teaching for 30 years, she said, “I am not retiring, I’m just changing professions.” She then continued working in the accounting field and was still working at Trans World Shipping at the time of her death. She married Buzz Rothenbuhler on April 3, 1982. She enjoyed keeping score at Buzz’s softball games and for the little league baseball teams he coached. Becky’s favorite thing to do was read, which is why she would go to McDonald’s every day for a Diet Coke and spend an hour reading. She would always send cards to family and friends to help them through bad times. She ate all of her meals out and said “I have a kitchen in my house because it came with the house when I bought it.” Becky was preceded in death by Dad; Mom; son, Jeff; mother-in-law, Ruth; and brother-in-law, Jon. She is survived by her husband, Buzz; son, Brent; brother, Jay; sister, Betsy; step-mother, Marilyn; father-in-law, Don; daughter-in-law, Becky2; granddaughters, Maggie and Brook; and grandson, Jack. Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 15 2021 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee after 3 PM where a short funeral service will follow at 8 PM. Interment will be private.
