Rebecca Powell

Rebecca "Becky" S. Powell, 71, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, OH. She was born on April 19, 1955, in Wood County, OH, to Norman Knitz and Virginia Mae Hutting. Becky graduated from Eastwood High School in 1973. On May 25, 1999, she married Timothy Powell, and he survives.

Becky worked for Community Markets in Oak Harbor for 32 years, retiring in 2015. Following her retirement, she continued working as a dental assistant at Journay Family Dental in Bellevue and as a veterinary assistant at Oak Harbor Veterinary Hospital.

Becky enjoyed camping, beekeeping, cooking, and baking. She had recently taken up making sourdough bread for her family and had already mastered the art of making it just lightly toasted-just the way her family liked it. She was an active member of the Sandusky County Beekeepers Club and was also heavily involved with Body Works Fitness in Oak Harbor, where she worked out several times a week and also worked there.

Becky's greatest joy was her grandchildren and taking care of her family. She was known for her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. A hippy at heart, Becky loved the outdoors and looked forward to attending rock and gem shows every year. She was incredibly brave and strong throughout her illness, facing each day with courage and determination.

Becky is survived by her husband, Timothy Powell; children, Justina (John) Lewis and Jeremiah (Kristin) Cordy; grandchildren, Brooke, Kylie, and Aiden; siblings, Shirley Beckley and Norman "Skip" (Trina) Knitz; her Doberman Pinscher, Thor; and her cat, Zena. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Virginia; stepfather, Kenneth Cordy; and sister, Loree Hartman.

A Celebration of Life for Becky will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Becky may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
