Raymonde Christiane (Chopin) Alberti passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Our beloved French girl was born on January 20, 1926 to Julien and Marthe (Denis) Chopin in Laon, France. Raymonde grew up in Lamorlaye, a small town outside of Paris. It was there during World War II she met an American Soldier, named Karl Alberti. After the war, the two corresponded for about a year - with the need for interpreters on both sides of the pond. The next time Karl visited France was to marry and bring back his beautiful bride with him to Findlay, OH. Their life together lasted 72 years. Raymonde worked diligently to learn English, pass the testing, and on November 1, 1951 she proudly became an American citizen. She was a corporate wife - living in many locations with Karl’s position at Libbey-Owens-Ford. During their time in New Jersey, Raymonde was President of L’Amicale Francais, the French speaking club, and was the hostess for many social events. Family was the most integral part of Raymonde’s life. Her home was always filled with the sweet smell of baking - French cream puffs and weekly Sunday dinners were at the top of the list. She loved playing Bridge, and she kept her bag of quarters close. And the hugs....more than could ever be counted. She deeply loved her children, and absolutely adored her grandchildren - and the feeling was mutual tenfold. Her kindness, warmth, and sincere compassion for others was part of her everyday life. She touched everyone she met, and how fortunate you were if you were ever in the company of this kind and gentle soul. Raymonde will be deeply and forever missed by her children, Chantal Oblander and Steve (Mary Beth) Alberti. Grandchildren Eric (Melanie) Oblander, Alex (Allie) Alberti, Lauren Alberti, Jack Alberti, Stephanie Lepiarz, John Lepiarz, and Kimberly Lepiarz, as well as 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Karl Alberti - the love of her life for 72 years, her daughter Michelle Lepiarz, and infant son Robert. Visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9 am - 11 am at King of Glory Church 6517 Brint Road, Sylvania, with services immediately following at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to King of Glory Church. Au revoir, bien-aimée, Raymonde. Repose’ en paix
