Raymond Knight Tussing

Raymond “Ray” Knight Tussing, 89, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 6, 2013in Sandusky, Ohio. Ray was born on July 17, 1924 in Toledo to Bertie “Bert” and Lura Belle (Knight) Tussing. He married Betty McPhillips on July 8, 1947 in Angola, Indiana. Ray proudly served his country as an Army paratrooper in WWII. He fought at the Battle of the Bulge where he was wounded and later received the Purple Heart. After his time in the service Ray worked as a Master Jeweler for The Roulet Company for over 46 years. He created many beautiful and detailed pieces for family, Masonic Lodges, and the Catholic Church. Ray loved traveling the world and camping. He enjoyed fishing and many recreational water activities, such as canoeing which often ended up with him in the water. He was a dedicated and loving, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ray is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty, children, Lura Inskip, Vivian (Daniel) Komisarek, Ray (Evangelina Espinosa) Tussing, Nadine Binkowski, Leo Tussing, Mark Tussing and Jeanette DiLucia, 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, sister, Eleanor Clinton, brother-in-law, Lawrence McPhillips and sister-in-law Rose Tussing. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bert, Paul, Gerald and Robert Tussing and son-in-law, Thomas Binkowski. Friends will be received on Wednesday, Sept 11, 2013 from 10:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) where a memorial service will be held following the visitation at 12:00 P.M.
