Raymond C. "Suby" Suhrbier

Raymond C. “Suby” Suhrbier, 78, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 21, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 17, 1946, in Port Clinton, the son of the late Lowell and Edna (Thompson) Suhrbier. Raymond married Mary Lou Sztuk on November 20, 1971, and she survives.

Raymond proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. After his military service, he worked for 25 years as a Foreman at Kelsey Hayes until his retirement in 2008. Following retirement, he continued to serve his community by working for the City of Port Clinton’s cemetery department.

Raymond was an active member of the Port Clinton American Legion and the Elks Lodge. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying both golf and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou; sisters, Lola Nelson and Martha (James) Reynolds; nieces and nephews; brother in-laws, Ed Sztuk and Jim (Leanne) Sztuk; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in-law, Walt Nelson.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 11 am with Pastor Paul Reichert officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton with military honors being conducted by members of the American Legion.
