Raymond L. Nowak

Raymond (Ray) L. Nowak, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Ray was known for his kind and gentle spirit. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading His Word daily. Ray was a member of Five Lakes Church (formerly known as McCord Road Christian Church) in Sylvania and participated in a Bible study group at the church for over 15 years.

A lifelong resident of Toledo, Ray attended St. Charles School for his elementary education then graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964. In 1968, he completed an Associate Degree in Commercial Studies at The University of Toledo, University Community and Technical College. After working at Buckeye Brewing for a few years, Ray was employed at Chrysler Corporation-Toledo Assembly for several years, retiring in 2002.

Ray loved fishing for salmon and made an annual trip to New York to catch the big one. He also enjoyed all things Notre Dame!

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 29 years, Karen Nowak, and son, William Q. Nowak. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Valentine and Frances (Truchan) Nowak and brother Thomas.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11 am at Five Lakes Church, 4765 McCord Road, Sylvania OH 43560 with Pastor Benton Cole officiating. The family will receive guests from 10 to 11 am prior to the service.

Memorial contributions in Ray’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105, stjude.org, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Ray’s wife, Karen, wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at The Toledo Hospital, Cardiovascular Intensive Care and Step-Down units, for their wonderful care and support.
