Raymond L. Lee, Sr.

Raymond L. Colonel Lee, Sr., 69, of Genoa, Ohio, died Friday evening, March 12, 2010 in his residence. He was born in Bono, Ohio on December 10, 1940 to Leroy and Elaine Markin Lee. He married Marsha M. Hull on the baseball field of the Genoa Area High School on August 10, 1996, and she survives. Ray started his working career in the Toledo Shipyards learning the machinist trade, he later moved on to work for Hans Hansen Co. then for the Merce Boiler & Welding Co. and finally the Sun Oil Co., where he retired in 2005 after 17 years of service. Ray was a member and Deacon of the Genoa Christian Church, a past member of the Genoa Area Kiwanis Club, and a Lieutenant with the Clay-Genoa Volunteer Fire Dept. Ray loved the outdoors and spent much of his spare time hunting and fishing and watching any type of sporting event. His most cherished times were when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Marsha, children, Jaci Gladden, Buffalo, MN, Cheri Ted Harder, Oak Harbor, Dave Kris Lee, Genoa, Raymond Janet Lee, Jr., Walbridge, grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Brianna Gladden, Tiffany & Corey Harder, Kyle, Mallory, Jake Lee, and Kurtis & Aubrey Lee. Step-children, Bill Holly Dufendock, Oak Harbor, Leeann Dufendock, Genoa, Step-grandchildren, Michael, Zach, Coty, Cole, and Seth Dufendock, and brothers, Garrett Lee, Port Clinton, Loren Lee, Adrian, MI, Ronald Lee, Phoenix, AZ, and his faithful companion; his lab Harley. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Leroy Lee, and step-grandson, James Marshal. A funeral service for Ray will be conducted at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St. Genoa. Interment will follow in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM, Monday, March 15, 2010 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St. Genoa, OH. A Firemans service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7PM on Monday evening.
