Raymond F. Kusner, age 90, of Perrysburg, Ohio, went Home to be with The Lord on September 13, 2013. He was born on April 21, 1923 in Rossford, Ohio to Ignatius Jack and Mary Szul Kusner. He graduated from Central Catholic in 1941 and The University of Toledo in 1951. He married Dorothy Smith on November 25, 1947 and they shared 50 years of marriage. Ray was a Registered Professional Engineer licensed in Ohio who worked at Whirlpool in Clyde, Ohio as well as Devilbis in Toledo, Ohio. As a Pfc. Rifleman in Company G, 335th Regiment of the 84th Infantry Division during WWII, Ray was engaged in combat from the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium to VE day in central Germany. He enlisted in January 1943 and was honorably discharged in January 1946. Ray was a parishioner of St. Rose Catholic Church, serving as an usher for many years. He greatly enjoyed visiting with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His leisure interests included playing cards, bowling and baseball, and he was an avid golfer who proudly made two holes-in-one in his retirement years. He is lovingly survived by his children: Ronald Margaret, Dennis Diane, Kristine Terree Peatee and Mark Theresa, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, his sisters Helen, Josephine, Sophie, Madeline, Irene and brothers Anthony, Joseph, John, Mike and Eugene. Family and friends may visit at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday September 15, 2013 from 2-8 pm with a scripture service beginning at 7:00 pm. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Monday September 16, 2013 at 10:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially to his hospice nurse, Maureen, for her loving care and support in Dads final years.
