Raymond M. Hutchinson

Raymond M. Hutchinson, age 90, passed away May 25, 2012 at Spring Meadows Care center, Holland, Ohio. Ray was born n Windsor, Ontario, Canada on November 6, 1921 to George and Lotta Masiker Hutchinson. He served as an Airman in the Royal Canadian Air Force in WW II. Initially he was stationed in England and later was deployed to France. After the war he married Teresa Forster in Windsor, Canada and they enjoyed 66 years together. In 1952 Ray and Teresa moved to Toledo. He found work with the Community Traction Co. as a bus driver for 13 years. Ray then found employment with the City of Toledo in the Forestry Division, later working as a Traffic Engineer for the City of Toledo until he retired in 1987. Ray was an active member in the Barton Smith Lodge, and also belonged to the Shriners. He was a Road Runner for Children needing transportation to the Childrens Hospital in Chicago. In retirement he loved traveling, spending many winters in Florida with his wife Teresa. He loved painting, where he received several awards, and was also a published poet. In his later years, Ray and Teresa moved to Village Meadows where he organized an annual Memorial Day parade. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church in Holland. Ray will always be remembered for his great sense of humor but his real joy was the love he had for his family and his wife. Ray is survived by his wife, Teresa, daughter, Evelyn Tom Gugger, son, Tommie, daughter-in-law, Linda Hutchinson, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Alfred John and brothers, Robert and Maurice. Visitation for Ray will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
