Ray Douglas Wampler age 57 of Maumee, OH passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 13, 2013. Ray was born in Toledo on November 17, 1955 to Larry and Margaret Hall Wampler. He was a 1973 graduate of Rogers High School. Ray was employed at UPS for the past 41 years and had 33 years of safe driving which he was proud of. Ray was a member of Teamsters Local 20 and served as a Union Steward. While his children were growing up, he assisted in coaching his sons Maumee Little League baseball team and his daughters softball team. Ray enjoyed vacationing and riding motorcycles with his friends, gardening, poker, bowling, and golfing; especially his annual trip to Gull Lake with his fellow UPS brothers. Ray loved sports and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He had the biggest heart and was sincerely devoted to his family. A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kim Campbell Wampler; son, Cory Wampler; daughters, Sara Wampler and Stacy Nick Lucking Wampler; grandchildren, Hayden and Jackson; mother, Peggy Wampler; sister, Jo Ann Ron Rieger and brother, David Sandy Wampler. Also surviving is Rays father in-law, Jack Campbell; brother in-law, Scott Campbell and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Wampler and mother in-law, Marilyn Campbell. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 2-7 pm with services beginning at 7 pm.
