Ray O. Caris, 89, of Genoa, Ohio, died Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2013, at the home of his daughter in Pemberville, Ohio. He was born April 18, 1924, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, the son of Emery and Bertha Donnell Caris. On July 3, 1948, he married Mariam Bradfield, who passed away in 1999. Ray retired in 1985 from L.O.F. Rossford plant. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was very proud to fly the American flag. Ray enjoyed his fish and having aquariums and in his earlier years, he enjoyed being outside and working in his yard. Ray is survived by his daughter, Diana Lynne Jack Callihan of Florida and Pamela Sue Thomas Strausbaugh of Pemberville, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. His parents and wife preceded him in death. A graveside service was held at Restlawn Memorial Park. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa assisted the family with arrangements.
