Ray Aldrich Jr., 85 of Genoa, Ohio, passed away January 10, 2021 at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio, after a lingering illness. Ray was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio on February 8, 1935 the son of Ray and Louise (Laney) Aldrich, Sr. He married Christine H. (Pierce) in Port Clinton, Ohio on May 13, 1988 and she survives. Ray had worked for Martin-Marietta Corp. of Woodville, Ohio for 28 years retiring in 1997. Ray spent many years restoring cars, and lawn mowers, but the project he was most proud of was his restoration of his International Harvester tractor. Many hours went into bringing it back to its like new appearance and operating condition. Ray had been a member of S.C.R.A.P. and enjoyed attending the annual tractor show held at White Star park in Gibsonburg, Ohio. He also enjoyed his coffee group that met at the former Hour Glass in Genoa. Above all things, Ray loved his family especially his grandchildren. Ray is survived by his wife of 32 years, Chris; children, Debbie (Roy) Villarreal, Becky Gill, Tina Angelini, Brenda (Dave) Smith, Tim (Nancy) Aldrich, Jamey Aldrich and Helen Clere; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with his two siblings, Robert (Jane) Aldrich and Barb Conway. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joanne Goodman; son, Travis Brown; and three great grandchildren. Visitation for Ray will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. Masks and social distancing will be required. A 1:45 PM graveside service will be conducted in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorial contributions, for Ray, may be directed to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District, Station #36, 101 6th Street, Genoa, Ohio 43430.
