With a heavy heart, we share the news of the passing of Randall L. "Randy" Miller, Jr., a cherished member of the Port Clinton, Ohio community. Randy, 71, embarked on his final journey from the comfort of his home on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Born on April 27, 1952, in the same town he loved and lived in, Randy was the beloved son of Randall and Janise Miller.
Randy was a man of many talents and interests. He was a dedicated maintenance worker at Standard Products, but his life was far from all work and no play. A proud member of the VFW, Eagles, Randy was a familiar face at the Oak Harbor Golf Course, where he was known for his love of the game. He was also a skilled pool player, and his friends will fondly remember him with a Miller Lite in one hand and a pool cue in the other.
Randy's love for food was legendary. He had a soft spot for popcorn and pretzels, and his daughter's meatloaf and homemade beef and noodles were his absolute favorites. He was also a master of chicken noodle soup, a dish he took great pride in preparing.
Randy was a devoted family man. He married his soulmate, Ronda Landrum, on September 13, 1980, and together they built a beautiful life.
He is survived by his mother, Janise Meggitt; wife, Ronda Miller; his children, Randy III (Racheal) and Christine (Chandler); and his grandchildren, Amayah, Isaac, Kylee, Zoey, and Zander, who were the apples of his eye. He is also survived by his siblings, Connie (Michael) Biro, Karen (Jim) Walker, and Lori (Jim) Posta, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Harmon and Elsie Miller and Norris and Hazel Rickner; and nephew, Chuck Dobrowolski.
Randy was a lifelong fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football. His passion for the team was infectious, and he never missed a game. His family and friends will remember him cheering on his beloved Buckeyes, a tradition they will carry on in his memory.
In accordance with Randy's wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ALS Foundation – Northern Ohio Chapter or to the family to help with funeral expenses through the Tribute Fund link found on this page. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, has been entrusted with arrangements.
Randy's life was a testament to his love for his family, his community, and his Buckeyes. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
