Ramon Mendoza Vargas

Ramon Mendoza Vargas, 87, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. He was born February 08, 1920 in Ashiton, TX the son of the late Salome and Refujia Mendoza Vargas. On February 26, 1950 in St. Theresa Church, Edcouch, TX he married Pauline Rodriguez and she survives. Ramon worked as a laborer at the U. S. Gypsum plant for over 20 years retiring in 1971. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. In his early years he loved to cook. He enjoyed his music and loved spending time with this friends and family. Ramon will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Loving wife of 57 years: Pauline R. Vargas of Port Clinton, OH; Children: Pauline Roberto Gonzales of San Antonio, TX, Rosalinda Fernando Lucero of Port Clinton, OH, Ramon Robin Vargas of Toledo, OH, Maria Alicia Greear of Oak Harbor, OH and Alfredo Vargas of Elsa, TX; 22 Grandchildren; 37 Great-Grandchildren; Adopted Son: Randy Rink of Forks, WA; Sisters: Josefina Howard Hieb, Gavina Maria Richard Cabral; Brother: Tommy Stephanie Vargas. Ramon was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters: Cesaria Vargas, Juanita Teneuque, Francis Vargas, and Antonia Farias; Brothers: Tomas Vargas and Martin Vargas; Son-in-law: Billy L. Greear. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St. Port Clinton. Prayers with the family will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 AM, Friday, November 30, 2007, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH with Father John Missler officiating.
