Ralph A. Szymania, 84, of Genoa, Ohio and recently of Oregon, Ohio, passed away February 6, 2011, at his daughters home with her by his side, after a lengthy struggle with congestive heart failure. Ralph was drafted into the U.S. Navy at 18 during WWII and served on the USS Cimarron. He went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1982. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Romaine, son, Randy, parents, Joseph and Martha Falkenstein Szmania, and sisters, Alice Przybylski and Evelyn Huber. He is survived by his loving, devoted daughter and caregiver, Rebecca Cary Garnett Szmania, brother, Ray Dorothy Szmania, sister, Jennie Fry, and many nieces and nephews. Ralphs daughter would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Adrienne Sedlemier and staff and Dr. Karl Fernandes for their exceptional care and kindness over the years. Services for Ralph were private and burial was in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St. Genoa, OH 43430, assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions in Ralphs name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd. Perrysburg, OH, 43551 or to the donors choice. Dad, you will be missed by the many people whose lives youve touched.
