On Saturday, August 17, 2019, Ralph Stevens, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 86 surrounded by loved ones. Ralph was born on February 10, 1933, in Gibsonburg, Ohio. He wed Marian Butterfield on January 29, 1955. Ralph and Marian raised six children together. They have 13 grandchildren, over 30 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was a longtime resident of Genoa and worked for Spurgeon Chevrolet as a mechanic for 44 years before retiring. Ralph was an avid fisherman, spending many days on his boat with his kids. Many of his grandchildren’s fondest memories are of him teaching them to fish. He also enjoyed woodworking and made many gifts for his family and friends. Ralph volunteered at the Genoa Food Pantry for many years alongside his wife. He was known for being a dedicated worker, but he was also intensely a loyal and devoted husband. Ralph was always willing to lend a hand and never asked for anything in return. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alene (Myers) Stevens, his sisters, Katherine and Ruth, his daughter, Nancy and his grandson, Jacob. He is survived by his wife, Marian, and his children, Paul (Jill), Joyce, Linda, Susan (Darryl) and Lyn (Adele), as well as their numerous grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa.
