Ralph William Lakin, 80, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Ralph was born on January 22, 1932 in Fort Scott, KS, the son of Rev. Jesse Neal and Adia Grace Gardner Lakin. On August 28, 1954 in Sandusky, OH, he was married by his father to Joyce Lane and she survives. Ralph worked at the Erie Army Depot for 13 years, a mechanic at Pure Oil gas station for 4 years, and was a master mechanic for Treasure Cove Marine Max for 32 years. He then worked part time at Dubberts Outdrive. Ralph was a member of the Sandusky Community of the Nazarene Church, Sandusky, OH. He loved to hunt, fish, watch television and going on outings with the mens church group. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Wife: Joyce Lakin of Port Clinton; Daughters: Pamela David Kubasek of Catawba Island and Jennifer Orosz of Oak Harbor; Daughter-in-law: Pat Lakin of Oak Harbor; Grandchildren: Benjamin Lakin, Danielle Lakin and Quinton Orosz and Great-Grandson: Lucas Russell. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, son: Danny Lakin and sister: Joann Lakin. Visitation will be 5-8PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be held at 10:30AM, Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, Milan Rd, Sandusky, OH 44870, with visitation one hour prior from 9:30AM until time of service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ralph may be given to the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, Sandusky, OH building fund.
