Ralph G. Hart, 82, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on March 24, 2022, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born on September 29, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, the fifth oldest child of what would be a total of eighteen, to James and Hattie (Marsh) Hart. Ralph was married on February 13, 1971, in Toledo to the love of his life, Verlie (DeSelms) in Toledo, Ohio and recently celebrated 51 years together.
Ralph proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and had been a long-time member of the Genoa American Legion Post #324. Ralph started his career at Interlake Steel for 10 years, then for 24 years at LOF in Rossford, before happily retiring from Nollenberger Truck Center, Stony Ridge, Ohio, after 10 years. He enjoyed sports, and from 1959-1969 he coached grade school football in East Toledo. He was a diehard fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Indians for many years. He also loved to garden, camp, and for over 60 years, played Santa for family and friends. Ralph was a true family man who cherished every moment spent with them.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Verlie, children, Lynn (Joseph) Bunn, Ralph (Shawn Burmeister) Hart II, and Lisa Hart, grandchildren, Jacob Hart, Sidney Burmeister, Alivia Mysinger, brother, Allan Hart, sisters, Glenda Christian, Kaye Eberflus, Alice Hart, Nancy Balaque, Betsy Hart, and sister-in-law, Norita Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Hattie, brothers, James, Howard, Thomas, Carl, Terry and Lonnie Hart, and sisters, Susie Lovell, Charlotte Downey, Lillian Wohlers, Daisy Brossia, and Sharon Hart.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the funeral home. Immediately following the funeral service, the family will gather at the Genoa American Legion Post #324 Hall, 302 West St, Genoa, for a time of fellowship. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Genoa American Legion Post #324 or the A.C.J.F.D. Station #36, 101 6 th St., Genoa.
