Ralph L. Cook, 98, a longtime resident of Oak Harbor died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Otterbein-North Shore Retirement Assisted Living, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. He was born on December 5, 1913 in Genoa, OH to Louis and Edna Ardella Ory Cook. On January 18, 1941 in Oak Harbor, OH he married Evelyn M. Schmunk and she preceded him in death on October 24, 1988. Ralph worked at the Allison Division of General Motors war plant in Indianapolis, IN during World War II, worked as a dock foreman for Hemminger Marina in Port Clinton, and worked as an electrician, plumber, and assistant manager at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH, retiring on December 31, 1982. He was a member of the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church. Ralph was an avid fisherman and loved boating. Ralph is survived by his son: Michael L. Diane Cook of Columbus, OH, daughter: Rebecca G. Jon Boesel of Port Clinton, OH, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Craig Cook, grandson: Robert Cook, and brother: Ormand Cook. Visitation will be private for the immediate family. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Chuck Kaylor at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor with interment to follow in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ralph may be given to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
