R. P. White

Raymond P. White, 73, of Port Clinton, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, April 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 30, 1939 in Mabe, VA, the son of Richard and Mollie Mattingly White. On September 08, 1962, he married Barbara J. Hofacker and she preceded him in death on September 20, 2009. Ray worked as a boiler operator for U. S. Gypsum for 28 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 and the Dads Club at the V.F.W. and a member of the David W. Leonard Aerie #2295 both of Port Clinton, OH. Survivors include: Sons: David Lisa White of Port Clinton, Michael Laura White of Port Clinton, Chuck Norma White of Port Clinton; Daughter: Tammy Dennis Gawlik of Kingsport, TN; 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Sara Butler of Catawba Island, OH. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother: Abraham White. At the request of the family there will be no visitation or services. Memorial donations in memory of Ray may be given to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH.
