Pierrette “Pete” Bisson died surrounded by her loving family on May 29, 2023, at Hospice of NW Ohio. She was born in Thetford-Mines, Canada on January 29, 1939, to her late parents, Donal and Juliette (Parent) Pomerleau. She was the middle child, fourth out of eight children. Pete grew up in the Province of Quebec, meeting her beloved husband, Noel “Frenchie” Bisson and they were married on August 6, 1955.
The family relocated to the United States when Frenchie took a job here in 1969. The couple took night classes to learn the language quickly and the family settled into the rhythm of life in the US.
Pierrette was a devoted worker and held several jobs including at Jobst where she was a distribution clerk. In her spare time, Pete loved cooking, canning, baking, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed travelling the country and took many trips including to Las Vegas, an Alaskan cruise, Alberta, Quebec and Newfoundland, Florida and the Carolinas.
Cooking for others and preparing goodies to share with neighbors, friends and family was in the center of Pete’s heart. Even if there was plenty, you could count on her to bring more.
Pierrette especially loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren play hockey, soccer, volleyball and football.
Pierrette sang with the Toledo Swiss singers for 20 years. The Toledo Swiss singers performed 3 annual concerts at Oak Shade Grove and at local events.
Left to cherish everything about Pierrette are her children; Line (Stanley), Luke (Joetta), Lucie (Thomas), Edith (Kevin); grandchildren, Luke Jr. (Anna) Joseph, Aaron (Abigail), Samantha, Amanda (James), Anthony (Samantha), Roxanne (Scott), and Jay (Marissa); great-grandchildren, Morgan, Lexie, Damien, Evelyn, Jasper, Aiden, Asher, Colton, Wyatt , Charlotte, Jonas, Adam and Zak; brother, Denis (Helene); and her very special friends, Brenda, Evelyn, Moly and Madge.
A special thank you to Northwest Ohio Hospice nurses for the exceptional care they provided Pete.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her siblings, Therese (Emilien), Jeannine (Jean Paul), Jean Guy, Monique, Ginette, and Doris (Denis).
