Phyllis S. Spencer

Phyllis Sue Spencer, 76, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Thursday, February 01, 2018 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. Phyllis was born on September 18, 1941 in Lilly Brook, WV, the daughter of Joseph and Lucinda (Cecil) French. On July 31, 1958 in Sullivan, WV, she married James E. Spencer and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1994. Phylllis worked as a punch press operator for Tri-D Automotive in Port Clinton until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Port Clinton Lions Club and past member of the Eastern Star. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and community service. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are: Daughter: Karen Mitchell; Sons: James D. Spencer and Thomas Spencer; Grandchildren: Todd Mitchell and Heather Mitchell; Brother: Charles (Linda) French; Sister:Sarah Rookstood; Nephew: Curtis (Zelta) Martin and several Nieces and Nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Kelly, Thomas, Curtis, Bob, Shirl and Douglas French and sisters: Loraine Brown, Ann Melfa and Delores Cecil. Visitation will be 2-4 6-8PM, Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton, OH 43452. Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the chapel in Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd., Avon, OH 44011.
