Phyllis Rist

Phyllis Rist, 92, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away on March 22, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Blissfield, Michigan, on December 3, 1933, to Sylvester and Margaret (Stiving) Sweet. She was a 1951 graduate of Waite High School. She married Lewis W. Rist on July 12, 1952. Phyllis was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved animals, especially her little dog, "Cha Cha".

After her children were grown, she enrolled in Cosmetology School and opened her own hair salon in Rossford, The ARISTOCRAT. Later she went to work for JCPenney hair salon.

She enjoyed reading, bowling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends at her cottage on Marr Lake in Onstead, Michigan.

Phyllis' family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Waterford of Levis Commons and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

She is survived by her children, Debbie (Ralph) Huff, Diana Wilbarger, Don (Tracy) Rist, Doug Rist, Lewis "Dusty" (Lori) Rist Jr., and Daralyn Rist, 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lewis W. Rist, her parents, grandsons, Bryan Huff and Justin Rist, son-in-law, Jeff Wilbarger, and brothers, Paul, Ervin, and Allen Sweet.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio. The funeral ceremony will begin at 10:00 am on Monday, March 30, 2026, in the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations in Phyllis' honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
