Phyllis Myers, of Springfield Township, passed away peacefully 10 days shy of her 90th birthday at her home on Monday, March 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo to Stanley and Alice Coveney Lanker. She worked in the Propeller Plant during World War II. Phyllis married her husband, Charles Dale Myers on November 21, 1938 and was married 48 years until his death on December 4, 1986. Many years were spent as a member of the Ursula Wolcott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Phyllis enjoyed traveling and visits with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining in her home and was very family centered. She was very close with her sisters, being the youngest of five. Phyllis was a wonderful cook and her family always looked forward to her cranberry salad at Thanksgiving. She is survived by her children, Karen James Martin, Charles Dale Jr. Jacqueline Myers, Robin Myers, and Kevin Tina Myers; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and sister, Leontine Jacobs. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by infant daughter, Rosalind; grandson, Daryl Martin; and sisters, Frances Simon, Helen Chudzinski and Alice Sally Schutt. Friends may visit with the family at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. on Thursday 4-9 pm where services will be held on Friday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Ursula Wolcott Chapter Scholarship Fund.
